Missing licensing reports in D365 F&SCM

Writing on his blog, Alex Meyer stated that the recent announcement about license enforcement for Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management has caused a lot of confusion and stress in the community. 

He wrote that so far the tools and reports meant to help with this have been pretty limited. He noted that Microsoft just made a change that makes things a bit more difficult. Consequently, Meyer stated that he wanted to quickly share what’s changed and offer a workaround. 

Currently there are at least five different places where you can check user license info in D365 F&SCM (and there might be more he doesn’t know about yet), he explained. If you run license reports from any of these systems, chances are they won’t match. He added that Microsoft is working on fixing this by making PPAC the one place you can rely on for accurate license information. 

However, he noted that until that’s fully in place, customers are left wondering which report to believe and how to deal with licensing issues in the meantime. In his blog post, Meyer pointed out which report is thinks is most accurate. He also provided Microsoft’s take on how best to address the license discrepancies between the different reports and offered a workaround to the missing licensing reports in D365 F&SCM.
