2,500+ New Jobs in Salesforce India by January 2023

The growth of Salesforce is evident. Last week at Dreamforce, Salesforce’s annual conference, Marc Benioff revealed that Salesforce has surpassed competitors in its field, overtaking SAP in revenue. And this progression is across the globe, with large growth expected in India over the next few months. 

Salesforce’s headcount in India is set to increase by a third, and all while the amount of available jobs in the US is halting. But what is going to be the focus, and what is going to be the impact?

Arundhati Bhattacharya, the Chairperson and CEO of Salesforce India, declared that they will increase their number of jobs from 7,500 to 10,000 over the next couple of months. 

“We are (Salesforce India’s headcount) at about 7,500 plus. We are expecting that we will end FY23, which for us ends in January of 2023… We expect to be in the range of 10,000,”

This growth in the Salesforce economy has been predicted. In the research from the IDC it was projected that in India between 2021 and 2026 there will be 1.33M new jobs in Salesforce (both direct and indirect). The direct jobs are those that become available in Salesforce India, and the indirect are those created in the economy by people filling the direct jobs and spending on local goods and services (via Salesforce and its ecosystem). 

Bhattacharya further explained that banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI), manufacturing services, and social service sectors will be the prioritized areas. 


India’s youthful population is an asset – they are able to change and adapt quickly. Bhattacharya emphasized that this ability of people to adopt digital is going to power the growth in India’s GDP. However, they need the help of technology.

Bhattacharya advised that the next set of skills needed is surrounding niche technology, such as:

  • Software as a Service (SaaS) companies 
  • Cloud-based companies
  • Analytics and integration 
  • Cybersecurity

These are all areas in high demand, ready for enterprising individuals in India to start upskilling.


Salesforce’s significant growth across the globe is certainly being realized in the Indian ecosystem, with exciting opportunities for professionals in the region. It will be interesting to see how this growth is translated into roles, particularly for those in-demand skills around analytics, integration, and cybersecurity.
